Does it matter if I take prereqs in fourth year, instead of before I apply?

I'm in my third year of school and I'm hoping to apply this summer to med schools. I haven't taken the 2nd physics or any orgo yet and was planning on doing that in fourth year.

Will that hurt my chances for when I apply in the summer? I'm mostly aiming for Top 10 schools.

I did very well on the MCAT (131 in C/P), have taken all the other prereqs, and have several biochem courses.

Thank you all for your input!

Typically the rule is that you need to complete the pre-reqs before matriculating, not before applying. You should be fine.

Thank you! Do you think it would factor into the adcoms' decision though? Would they think I'm a less suitable applicant?

I got an II from a school even though I never completed their gen Chem requirement and have already graduated from undergrad

I would think not, especially since you did well on the MCAT. On AMCAS, you can also include future coursework, so they'll see you're currently enrolled/planning to take the class.
