98% convenience, maybe 2% "consideration"...

I think a lot of it depends specifically on the program. They each seem to prioritize & schedule interviews depending on the way their specific program "sifts" through the applicants.

My own program is divided into 2 branches. 1 branch is already interviewing applicants, the other won't for a few weeks.
