I am still waiting and the lady said they just sent out the last bulk of invitations this past Monday. If they also send emails then I know I am out...🙁

Hang in there and don't give up hope yet. My invitation actually came snail mail style! Your's could actually be in your mail box as we speak!

They emailed me first with the dates and also sent a letter to me in the mail. The interview dates were snatched up the first day. Maybe you'll be in the next batch.

That's so nice of ya'll...I am going to check the mail and hopfully it's true.

Does Marquette require interviews? Or is it still possible to get in without one? I've heard that they only interview borderline candidates, but then again I've also heard the interview is required for admission. Anyone know for sure? Did they mention anything about it in your letters? And for those of you that do have interviews, when did you send them your secondary, or when was your application complete?

I'm just getting a little worried because my application has been complete for over a month now, and I sent them my secondary in early september and still haven't heard back from them.

no love from Marquette today. I believe they require an interview before acceptance. According to the Marquette lady, they won't accept anyone without an interview. I talked with her yesterday and she said wait a week or so. If still don't hear from them then I know I am not selected for an interview and have to wait until Dec for alternate list interview. I sent out my secondary at the beginning of Sept. also and haven't heard from them since then.

I think marquette is starting to gain popularity and is becoming a little more competitive for admission. When you look at their avg stats all you see is DAT 17.5 and GPA 3.3ish. But about half the class is from wisconsin. Not exactly the most populous state. Not to bag on wisconsinites, but when you get a small state there is naturally less competition. So what that means is that the other half of marquette's class could have stats closer to 18,19 or so. They do have new, nice facilities and pretty darn attractive curriculum (they cut lecture time by 30% to make more time for clinics etc...). I think what turns most people off is the location.... all I ever hear about milwaukee is that it's COLD.... anyway, not to untoot your horn, but i think a lot of people have the wrong impression about marquette.

I read on their website that an interview is not a requirement for admission, but they may request one. I think it is for borderline students as you said.

the website isn't current, this year they do require interviews, but I don't think they did last year or the year before... the invitations will come in the mail and by email. if you are out of state your interview dates are oct 12, 20, 25, 26 and nov 1 and 2. They choose as much of their class as they can right on DEC 1st. There will still be a few slots available but the next group will have to wait till early february to hear back.

hang in there, if the lady said they mailed a "big batch" that doesn't mean they sent all their invitations out. They may get a % of people not interested for whatever reason.
I know its hard to be patient, the anxiety is killing us all, but I am sure that most of us reading this will be up to our throats in dental school by this time next year. good luck

I made the alternate list last year without an interview, but I believe they are requiring interviews this year as stated in some posts. My invite letter was sent by mail. I was able to schedule Oct 5 as an out-of-state applicant.
