Okay - before I make my final, final decision and let go of my spot at Michigan in order to go to New Jersey. Was there anything I missed about Michigan that really makes it stand out from other schools?

Curriculum - seems about average; lots of research
Ann Arbor - just an okay town
Campus - nice brick buildings, huge undergrad, football - good if your 20, could care less at 30.

Did I miss a section in their brochure that says students get unlimited patients, or guaranteed root canals and implant work?

I assume you were at the Michigan interview, right? 😉

I wouldn't call IMS average, it seems pretty unique. The integration of the courses makes sense and it's a good way to teach it. iTunes U was apparently founded at Mich, so they have all the lectures on video and audio so you don't have to wake up at 8am for lecture.

Plus the abundance of hot & smart college girls... not that that would impact you at all though OP lol. I can't imagine UMDNJ to be a better school than Michigan in any way, but since Michigan doesn't let people establish in-state residency, NJ might be the best choice financially.

...Go Blue?

word.

somethingpositive. covered good points.

go with your gut man, stop asking sdn people to make your decisions.

Ann Arbor is pretty awesome. It's a great college town! Summers are nice, but it's quite cold in the winter (obviously).

I believe this is the second or third discussion by you trying to compare Michigan To NJ (If it is not the same person then ignore this). To me you seem to want to go to Michigan as you are continuously seraching for someone to tell you to go there but NJ is the better fit finanially. I was expereincing a similar situation with VCU and Michigan. At VCU I could possibly gain in-state residency after one year and it was much closer to home, but I loved Michigan. In the end I realized that Michigan is going to make me happier and I will be able to perform better due to my happiness. So if you feel like that about Michigan and are tempted by NJ costing less then go with your gut and go to Michigan, but if you really have no preference over Michigan than NJ then definetly go with the cheaper one (NJ)...Common Sense to me.

two words: mike barwis. google it.

Actually - I'm leaning towards New Jersey because I've got a bunch of friends in the Jersey/NYC area and I know Manhattan like the back of my hand cause I lived there for about 7 years. I've been posting stuff all over the boards cause for some stupid reason I'm worried that I missed something in my research that's either a Jersey negative or a huge Michigan positive as far as the overall curriculum goes.

Its a 4 year, $200,000+ - decision of a life time and I guess I'm just scared that I might make the wrong choice. I can't be the only person freaking out that my dreams of getting accepted actually came true!

Of course not. UNMJD HAS to be a solid school too. I met some people at interviews that already fell in love with New Jersey and just wanted to see CA/FL.

I wouldn't say the football is a positive, even for undergrads.😀

For me, I'd go where I really wanted to. I almost chose to go to another undergrad institution based solely on a scholarship I was offered. I'm so glad I didn't go that route. I just think if you go somewhere based solely on the financial aspect when you really want to go elsewhere, you will regret it in the long run. And, regrets suck. My two pennies.
