Does Michigan really start on Aug 1?

Hey guys,

I recently got into michigan and took a look at their proposed new curriculum. It said the matriculation date is aug 1!! Is it really that early or is that still being decided?

We started the 29th of july at Ponce school of medicine in puerto rico, our 1st year class started two weeks before us due to introduction and other stuff.

Wow that sucks! Stanford gets out june 15, so my entire summer is going to be a little over a month! Boo

Yes they are starting earlier now b/c of the new curriculum. August 4th I believe will be the official first day. I just got back from Ann ARbor on wed/thurs and stopped into the admissions office to ask them more questions about that.

I went to AA to find some apartments and it's getting tough. Most of the apartments around the med school don't start letting folks move in until aug 20th. They were at a loss when i told them that the med school is starting in early august.. so try to find a place quick!

Maiden Lane apartments are very accomodating.

Wow! Apartments are already filling up!? I'm not even sure if I'll go to michigan or not, i'm still waiting for the results of my Wash U interview, and still waiting on half of my other schools to give me an interview, so I guess I can quite get an apartment yet.

I hear it's not that bad. The med school assured me that alot of fourth years will be picking up and leaving so it won't be that difficult to find a place at Maiden Lane apartments.
the so called "white coat ghetto" where 90% of the students live.

come to Michigan standoc! Nowhere else will you get the spirit and the Pride of being a Michigan wolverine!
The school will also give us a list of students looking for roommates and all that stuff, so I don't think you have to worry.
