anyone w/ motoq? I'm thinking about either getting it or the treo 700wx for the pda features. must be compatible w/ epocrates...rx, dx, etc.

while a good and capable smartphone, the motorola q does not support e pocrates.

the treo phone will support e pocrates.

i have a moto q and it runs epocrates with no problems. and no, it does not come with a palm os, windows mobile only.

Yes, the Moto Q will have no trouble running ePocrates. if someone is having or has had trouble with their Moto Q and ePocrates it's most likely specific to that handset or user.

ooh, i stand corrected. when the moto q first came out (early 06) epocrates did not run on windows mobile 5 smartphone edition (non touch screen), but i guess there have been updates since. sorry for the misinformation!

Yes, the program has been updated to address that issue. This was a problem that all smartphones experienced running that version of WM5 with ePocrates, not just the Moto Q. It was a result of the growing pains of transitioning to WM5 which was rather different than WM2003/SE in how it interacted with certain programs.

I am confused about windows vs. palm OS software. I looked at the Treo 680 and the 740 today and didn't know which one was better. Is the palm OS on the way out and microsoft in? What other smartphones should I consider if I have the "new AT&T"? Thanks for any help.

I hemmed and hawed about palm os versus WM os when considering the palm. I think I'd go with the palm os, but only because the palm (at the time I was looking) has a higher resolution screen, and I am familiar with that OS. For what I've found there seems to be more free or cheap palm apps than WM apps, but that may have changed.

Oh, and I ended up getting the Q and I'm quite satisfied. Very stable so far(an issue with smartphones) and I'm running a few different apps on it.

so does moto q run epocrates essentials w/ rx, dx, etc?
