Hi, everyone. Thanks to everyone that takes the time to read my question, and answer it. It means the world to me. I apologize but, I need to give a little background for everyone to understand.
I graduated with a BA in Psychology in 2014 (i know huge mistake) with a 3.7 GPA. I went on to work on a masters in education, but decided to withdraw from it. I completed 2 classes (600' level statistics & research methods was one of those classes, it was an A)
I am now taking my pre-requisites for dental school. I took BIO I&II (A's), and CHEMI (B) and CHEM I Lab (A). I am currently in General CHEM II with Molecular Biology, and Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy.
I am worried because I am not so sure my extracurricular activities will make the cut. I worked as a tutor my entire undergraduate career and again last fall (while I was taking all my BIO+CHEM classes), so I have around 3-4 years of experience. I mostly tutored entry-level math to students with disabilities while as undergraduate. I worked at night for 3 years as well here in school as a night manager at an multicultural event center. Then during my senior year, I worked about 6 hours per week as a research assistant in one of the psychology lab. It was for school credit. It's on my transcript.
However, I am now taking my pre-requisites and biology classes which are not joke. I am not working at all. I applied to do voluntary work and I'll be doing around 3 hours per week. I did around 30 hours of shadowing last summer as well, I'll do more this summer.
The problem is that, I am not going to be able to apply until next year's cycle (2017-2018 ) because I need to take Organic to take the DAT. I'll be taking the DAT in November then on March again.
I am just super worried that the years are passing and my research and extracurricular activities of 2 years ago won't count. I honestly did all that because of who I am as a person not because I was trying to apply to any school.
What should I do? Should I do everything again? The problem is that as non-degree the school Biology department won't allow me to do research, and I max out the 6 credit hours of research that they allow. What should I do?
My science GPA is 3.66 and my cumulative is 3.71. ( All because of a C in intro to BIO my freshman semester and another C) All my term GPA since then are above a 3.6, even 4.00
Thanks!!
