I have one class in which I received an A that can be classified as either BCPM or all other. My question is what is the best strategy for classifying this course.

My cGPA is a 3.85 and my sGPA is a 3.89 without the class in question or 3.90 with the class. For my non science classes, I have 3 courses excluding the course in question (12 credits total). 1 A, 1 A-, and 1 6 credit B+. If I exclude the course from my non-science GPA I have a 3.57. With the class, it goes up to 3.66.

So should I classify the class as biology (where it should belong) or should I place it as health science/ non BCMP to raise my non science GPA?

Damn! I thought I edited the title before any responses. I blame autocorrect.

If you don't put it where it belongs, AMCAS probably will when it verifies your coursework, complete with the big "X" that indicates they had to make a change to what you entered.

Also: you only have 3 non-science courses?

See the thing is that least year I accidentally marked it as Health Science and AMCAS kept it like that. It should be considered a bio course since it covers advanced physiological concepts that occur during exercise. I just know that it is possible to get a way with marking it as non BCMP and I'm wondering if that makes any impact whatsoever.

As for the 3 non-science courses, yes I took a science heavy major (human physiology) that left little room for non-science courses. The 6 credit non-science B+ course is actually an abroad summer course that I took out of pure interest and therefore resulted in me graduating with 6 extra credits. That being said, I'm from Quebec which has a different education system from the rest of Canada and the US. University is 3 years but we have 2 years of CEGEP after high school (we have 1 year less of high school so same amount of years total). All the easy pre-reqs were completed then including physics, gen chem, gen bio, as well as non-science courses such as college level english and humanities courses. All these courses are recognized by AMCAS and medical schools but are unfortunately not counted towards my GPA.

So does anyone have any recommendations for the course classification?
