Does "pre-med" mean pre-MD or pre-medical school?

So what exactly does pre-med mean? When can you say that you're no longer pre-med? Pre-MD, pre-medical school, or pre-medical school acceptance?

Well, at my school, you are an M0 while interviewing and applying, including your post-acceptance but pre-orientation. Once you get to orientation in the fall, you become an M1, and thus no longer pre-med.
