Does research PI count as a science LOR?

Would using a LOR from a science faculty that i have been researching under for class credit (CHEM 300) count as a science LOR?

depends on school. some schools don't specify that it has to be a lecture, so as long as you received credit then you're good. i think USC on it's website said specifically that PI research letters don't count unless you were also taught in lecture by them. you should probably call each school to ask. I got 3 science prof, 1 research PI and 1 dentist just to be safe. use interfolio

yes but it also may depend on schools.
