Does school actually called the dentist who you shadowed with?

Many schools require applicants to fill in hours of shadowing. But does school actually called the dentist who you shadowed with to confirm this information?

At some point UF asks you to have the dentist you shadowed to fill out a form (or something of that nature) I can't recall the specifics.
