Aloha,

So this might seem like a strange or odd question, but does size matter when it comes to be a dentist. I am no small guy. I am 6' 4 with an athletic, muscular, just big build. I weigh 245lbs and no I am not fat. Most peoples impressions when they see me is how big I am and comment on that. And I also have larger hands. XL gloves in lab. I had a friend who told me that I am too big to be a dentist! And that my hands would be too big. And now I am wondering if size really does matter? Thanks for the help in advance!

Thats what I was thinking. That it is mostly about wrist motion and hand eye coordination

Lol no it does not matter. I know an endodontist that's built like a NFL O-Linemen (no joke), meaning he had HUGE hands! Pretty impressive if u ask me especially since endodontist see mostly first and second molar endo and have to file some roots manually haha

I work for a general dentist, and he's 6'5, about 250. So about your size. Doesn't seem to be a problem for him.
