Does specific class performance go into your dean's letter in PF schools?

I'm jw if I am close to failing but make the pass line will this below-average performance be mentioned in dean's letters or any other way to residencies (class rank is not sent out at my school)?

Ask someone at your school. No one here will be able to answer your question.

How does that help you? Just ask your school.

Well can anyone just share what their school does if they know?

My school is P/F but we have a class rank that is reported in our dean's letter by quintiles. I think this is pretty standard amongst schools but may not apply to all.

My school breaks everybody into groups - bottom 50%, top 30%, top 20% and top 10% (or something very similar). That is what is reported in the Dean's letter.

Some schools are "true P/F" i.e., they have no internal rankings, so they aren't keeping track of how you're doing relative to your classmates for the sake of residency letters. Other schools are P/F but they do have internal rankings, so while residency programs will only see that you "passed" (not by how much), there may be an indication in the letter your school sends where you generally fall amongst your classmates (as those above me describe their school as doing).

My school is P/F but if we score an average above a 90% in the first and/or second year then this information goes in our deans letter. Otherwise it just says we passed.

Dean's letter is like last on the things that residencies care about. As long as you didn't like finger-bang 13 year old boys, the Dean's letter has no bearing on where you go for residency.

My school is P/F with no class rank. So it varies.

This depends a lot on the residency program and specialty you're applying to
