From what I understand, economics courses usually aren't considered math under BCPM. But this is a grey area as this particular course: ECO 430- Applied Econometrics, is quite math and statistics heavy.

I would strongly prefer it not count towards my science GPA as I doubt I will do well in it, but if it does count than I should know now.

Econometrics is math in the context of economics so yes, it's technically BCPM and would count towards your sGPA.

I'm willing to bet that whatever you classify it as, they'll keep it like that. I got an A in mine, classified it as a science class as a rightly believe it should be classified as, and it was accepted as such, despite what people on here told me what was going to happen.

So there is hope, yet. Thank you for this.

I personally wouldn't count it that way, but you might be able to sneak it by AMCAS.

The goal here is NOT to get credit for it. I absolutely do not want this course to lower my science GPA. So, I'm assuming when I submit my applications, I classify each course myself and let AMCAS do the rest? Then my only option really is to not classify at as a science course and hope for the best.

Just classify it to your advantage and my money is on them just leaving it.

Ohhhh, well just say it's econ, then. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 98% sure that econ does not count for BCPM.
