Does it look better to have a dental professor with DMD and pHD to write me a refernce letter as oppose to regular biochem professor? does the credibility of the professor actually contribute to the weight of letter given that both professors know me equally well? Thanks!

I would say if you know them equally well, get the recommendation from the PhD/DMD prof. I say this in part because some dental schools have a requirement that one letter be from a dentist, and this will take care of that. Why not get a letter from each of them?

I agree. Go with both! You're not limited to only three LOR's.

if the DMD/PhD is a professor then def. get that letter. the letter would hold a lot of weight at the school the dentist was a professor at.

jb!

At my school, all professors have PhD. Good advice has been given so far.

Go with whichever one you think will write you the better letter

Agreed 100% with Armorshell. A strong letter is far more important than having a slightly more credible letter writer.
