Does the DAT allow Calculators?

First, I was just doing the math section in the kaplan dat, and some numbers are so big that it would be a total pain in the ass to calculate without a calculator. Second, if calculators are allowed, what kind: scientific, graphic calculators?

🙂 No calculators are allowed, In fact you can bring nothing into the room, not even pens. They give you pencils and 6 scrap papers, you can ask for more.
Some of the numbers can big so learn to multiply and devide with large numbers, also learn how to approximate.
It would have been nice to have a TI-83 on DAT, but no🙁 🙁

Yeah, the real trick to the DAT math is learning how to quickly do the problems. None of the problems are significantly difficult in and of themselves, but the time limit is the factor that runs against many people.

Don't spend all your time on one problem. Chances are there will be some easier ones down the road that you can for sure get correct!

Remember that all DAT math problems are designed so you really don't need a calculator.

Another piece of advice, if you get stuck move on. This is especially true for the math section. Mark your answer, and question # and move on. math is the last section, it is the one that requires the most concentration.

The best advice when you are on a question for too long is to make an educated guess and go on to the next question. It is so tempting to stay on a question longer than you should allow yourself.
