hey everybody, i am considering being a dentist but at the same time im torn between trying to be a physician. I talked to my uncle (a dentist) and he said that at first he wanted to be a physician but then scored higher on another test so he decided to be a dentist. this was a couple years ago so i dont really remember exactly how he said it but it was somewhere along those lines.

My question is...if i study for the MCAT, will the same material be covered in the DAT? so in other words, can i kill 2 birds with one stone? or would i have to study both tests seperately?

You will probably have to study both tests separately. Most of the science material (Bio, Gchem, Ochem) is covered on both tests, but the format is different, and there are sections that are exclusive to each. To be specific, the perceptual ability and quantitative reasoning sections that are tested on the DAT are not tested on the MCAT.

Try doing a search if you have any more questions as this particular question has been asked ad nauseum on the dental forums.
