Does this count as shadowing?

The dentist I talked to about shadowing does research at a dental school three days out of five, would shadowing during the dental research work count as shadowing?

also I plan on starting during winter break, do you think shadowing full time 30-40hrs week is a good idea?

i am am not sure about that I thought shadowing is for the clinical practices...
well...but there is no rule to shadowing so well...
if u want research in dental school do asu want..

shadowing means you are observing what it is like to be a dentist. you are observing what they do so you are pretty familiar to what you're getting yourself into. Reseearch will most likely be a EC, a good one actually. but personally, i think you should still shadow a dentist, a couple of dentists actually. 🙂

As already stated, above observing this research I think dental schools like to see that you have actually observed a dentist in his/her clinic. I think they want to see that you have experienced, "A day in the life of" so you know what to expect on a day to day basis in this career.

Having said that, I think the research opportunity you have available is great. I'd be a little reluctant about the 30-40 hours a week, though. I'm assuming you're not taking class this semester and that you of all people know your schedule the best; so, make the decision accordingly.

Thanks, I'm actually going to be shadowing him in both his clinic and his research lab, so I will be getting clinical shadowing. I was just wondering if I could list the dental research part undering dental shadowing too since it's with a dentist and at a dental school.
