hey guys, is The complete dental admission guide Dr. Aly Kanani worth getting because the way it is advertised sure looks like it is worth it.

I've never heard of it, so it cannot be worth it. 🙂

Of course that's not entirely true, but there IS some truth in that statement. Of all the thousands of posts I've read here on SDN, over the past 5+ years, I've never seen one single person say that the book you mentioned was a good purchase. In fact, I only vaguely recall someone mentioning that book once.

My friend got this book, its a rip-off. Everything that is in it you can find yourself, they just put all these things together to make it look like a guide, they take up 50 pages on just listing the School's pre reqs that can be found on their respective home pages or the adea guide to dental schools!

Before I found this site I purchased it. SDN has a wealth more of information and best of all, its FREE!! Don't waste your money....Trust Me!

I bought the guide about 1 year back. It is good for someone brand new to the pre-dental world because it is packed with the basics of applying to and preparing for Dschool. Although, there isn't a single bit of new information in there that is not available online.

It was definetly not worth the money and it's actually just a pdf....so with that in mind....

Also, the ADEA Guide was mentioned earlier. I personally think that guide is well worth it's $25(??). It has all the stats from the matriculating or applicant pool for each school. You can answer your own "What do you guys think about my stats?" question that seem to pop up quite often.

They have a basic guide in it about preparing for admissions to Dschool and it is honestly good enough to get down the basics. Then just peruse SDN. I don't have this year's version so I can't comment on that but last year's was good. There is more data in that book than you probably want so it should cover the needs of most people.
