For the next quarter, I would have only liked to study the whole time for the MCAT(march 23). However, in order to get loans, I must take 6 hours. Therefore, I'll take 2 classes that i absolutely have to take, and I will retake 1 bogus class that is probably really easy. Does this still seem like too much while studying and shadowing as well?

Organic ( tuesday/Thurs : 10-11:15)
Organic lab (Monday 1:15 til probably 3:15)
geology 111 ( a retake that I had made a "C" in a long time ago. Monday/wed/fri 11-12:15)

All in all, it doesn't seem like a lot of time taken off each day, but I just want to see if anyone can relate to this. This is really the only way for me to do it. Hopefully there will lots of overlap with the organic studying for MCAT.

Looks completely fine, in my opinion 🙂

thanks alot. It freaked me out because I think most traditional students dont even take anything while studying for that MCAT. Oh well we'll see how hard it is lol. Oh yea, did you guys study for 8 hours a day or like 4 hours a day for the MCAT. I'm going to follow sn2d's schedule; I just forgot, and there's a huge difference between 8 and 4 hours. thanks again.

I'd say a lot do and a lot don't. If you're a traditional student taking it during your junior year of college, you have to take classes at the same time. It's always smart to take a lighter load like yourself though. I studied for a longer amount of time (about 8 months) but probably around 4 or 5 hours a day while working (no classes) so I was a little different. I think you just have to do what's right for you, and you will figure that out as you start to study and take practice tests - then you can change your study schedule accordingly 🙂

If it were me, I would try to arrange all of my classes on the same schedule. As in all Tuesday/Thursday or MWF. That way you can have days where you only study for the mcat and not have to worry about going to class.

All 3 times I took the MCAT, I was working full-time. It's difficult, but it can be done. Just plan on taking as much time as possible and regulate your progress throughout. You'll be able to figure out how many hrs/day of studying works for you.

Organic and organic lab go together so that shouldn't be too difficult. And since geology is a retake it should be cake for you.

All in all, I think if you started studying now, with the onset of classes at the beginning of next semester you would have accrued enough hours of quality studying to be able to afford some flexibility and still do well. Plus the courses you are taking is nothing. that's two classes that won't take up too much time.

thanks for all of your comments. Thats enough to tell me it should be fine. Although organic is not cake for me. I made an A on the first exam, and I failed the next one . pretty horrible if you ask me. I think I'm gonna come away with a C . Oh well, 2 more quarters to pull it up. Actually right now I'm taking a maximum load along with orgo and I hardly get to study for it. Probably why i failed that previous test lol. Yes, I will start listening to audio osmosis when I go to the gym now instead of music . that's gonna be a hard transition. IDK if you guys read in the OP, but I will not only be studying for the MCAT during this time. I will also be starting my shadowing/volunteering and doing anything I can...my EC's are lacking , I'm afraid.

Keep in mind, orgo IS studying for the MCAT. I know that biology usually way outnumbers organic content in the section on the MCAT but mine had a ton of organic and it gave me an edge because while most test takers have 5 million classes in biology most don't spend much time on the organic chemistry... it may pay off!
