I'm currently in my junior year of college. I started as a nursing major but after doing shadowing of just about every health profession, I realize I wasn't going to be satisfied being a nurse. I've always been more of a problem solver and have a tendency to want be independent.

I'm a nursing assistant at a large hospital in my area and it's made me realize what I really want is to be a physician. I switched my nursing major a while ago and am now studying health sciences. My GPA is at a pathetic 3.2 because I really didn't try hard since I had no real motivation. Now that I've realized my dream is to be a doctor, I'm ready to make the commitment. I've taken some sciences courses (A+P, psych classes, and a 100 level biology class my freshman year) and completed them with A's and B's. I was set to graduate next summer but now with my pre-med plan, I'd be in for two more years to get my prereqs which I'm okay with. If I work my butt off these next semesters and do well on my MCAT, do I have a shot even though my GPA blows right now? Any advice would be really helpful.

You have a very real chance. By the time you're done if you keep up your work ethic you will have a very competative GPA. Your major hurdle is the MCAT. Good luck.

Not very impressive GPA but can be improved to 3.4-3.5. MCAT is always X factor.
