Does this type of "research" help me any more than some other random EC would?

I put "research" in quotes because it differs from what people usually mean when they mention doing research on here.

There's a lab at my school where I can apply to become a volunteer research assistant, but their "research" is observing infants in aspects of developmental psychology.

Thats exactly my concern -- its more of a "psychology" thing than a straight-up biological science thing.

I definitely am still trying like hell to find some sort of biomedical research opportunity to do this year, as I have absolutely NOTHING on my app as far as research goes, and i certainly don't want the infant lab to be the only thing (if that even counts...)
but i was wondering if this would help me in any way, other than just being some other random EC.

I still might do it, because it sounds interesting to me, but should time constraints be a limit this year, I just wanted to make sure it probably wouldn't sound much better on an app than some other form of EC.

gracias!
