Hey everyone, new here and I have a quick question. Does what state you go to school in determine where you can practice, i.e. if I go to Duquesne (Pittsburgh, PA) will I only be able to practice in Pennsylvania? I'm assuming I will have to get some type of state approval/test every time I want to work in a different state?

Thanks.

No.

Upon graduation, you will take the NAPLEX, which is a national certification/licensing exam and you will take state law exam specific to the states in which you want to practice because every state has different laws.

The intern hour requirement varies from state to state as well. So the hours you earn at a school in PA might not be sufficient for a school in another state, or something else specific might be required. Something to look into when considering where to license initially.

The school I first attended strongly suggested everyone license initially in the state where the school was located and then reciprocate to other states.
