if yes, please post your school name and indicate whether they allow unrestricted access online or if they are only viewable on certain computer labs.

upstate has lectures taped and online right now only for first year but next year should have it for 2nd too. i believe you can only access them from computers on the campus network including the dorm

Hopkins has unlimited access to videos of lectures.

Along with the video itself, the powerpoint file that the lecturer is using is animated and scrolls thru each page as the lecturer clicks thru the slides.

You can get to it from anywhere on the internet with a user name/password.

Drexel does this too. I believe you need a password and all that jazz. I'm sure before long most schools will offer something like this if they don't already. But I'm not convinced this is necessarily a great thing--fewer and fewer may choose to go to class. I think it's important for students to interact socially. Learning medicine should also be about learning from fellow students, and how will that happen if you never see them.

Are you sure? When I was there for an interview, I recall (I think) that the student tour guide told me you could access the video feeds from off campus with either certain software or a correct password (I don't remember which).

Which I certainly hope is the case. Seeing as I'll be living off campus (with housing so cheap in Syracuse, might as well), it would make my life easier. I might never need to leave my apartment.

it could be if you heard it from a first year i would believe them the 2nd years dont got the videos yet 🙁 from what i understood there were originaly problems with accessing the videos from off campus but they may have fixed it by now

UMiami does this. You can get access to it anywhere in the internet, but you need a username and password.

Ditto at Case. Not every lecture may be videotaped though, its the lecturer's call if he/she doesnt want to be taped.
