Doesn't it suck when you're on the waiting list at the only school you've gotten an interview for, which is also your #1 choice, and you see that same school on peoples accepted list, along with about 5 others. MAKE A DECISION!!! Sorry, I know everyone has their own reasons, but I'm sure others are in the same boat I am. Just sucks.

well at least now you can busy yourself with preparing a letter of intent to better your chances of coming off the waitlist either soon or in may.

Already submitted a letter of intent, I knew for a fact that this is where I want to be. Now, back to the waiting game...........

Submit updated grades, assuming they are good 😉

Waiting is a cruel and unusual punishment I tell ya...

It's something that we have to do, or at least something they WANT us to have to do... kinda like graduating with debt. It's some twisted requirement for med school and a med degree!!

May I suggest showing up at the ad-com office with a set of knee pads and a longing look on your face. This might get you an anwser sooner.😱 😀 😱

Appreciate all the advice. My knees are already wore out from all the a$$ kissing I've done, so I think I've already reached my limits there. Grades are submitted and now just waiting it out with my good buddy Jack.........maybe you've all heard of him, Jack Daniels. Well, I don't know any figures but whatever the rate of alcoholism is in the medical profession, I'm sure the waiting list for medical schools is responsible for about 40% of it.

I was waitlisted at UCSD (MSTP) in November and had given up all hope of hearing until April. Then, I just got an acceptance offer this week.

It's true. Some MD/PhD programs do actually move their waitlists before they have to! When spots open up, they offer positions. Others (*cough* Penn *cough*) just don't feel like moving it until April or May (in Penn's case May 15th), and so they don't.

To the op: schools don't tend to give out financial aid packages until at least March, but more like April or May. These are very important in deciding which medical school you are going to attend if you have multiple choices. This gives a legitamate reason to hang onto multiple acceptances. Some schools also have second look programs that acceptees are waiting for. Hang in there!
