Dog eats EVERYTHING!

A friend of mine has a 2 year old female yellow labrador retriever. she eats everything, including toys, pizza boxes, trash, etc. We tried putting tabasco sauce on the things she isnt supposed to have, and she didnt even have the slightest reaction to it. We are afraid that she will plug herself up and have go through an expensive operation to get it out.

I know alot of dogs eat stuff out of stupidity, but this could be dangerous. How do we curb this behavior?

Keep her crated when she can't be watched...some dogs never outgrow this behavior.

My dog used to do this kind of thing and still does to some extent. I ended up "dog proofing" my apartment, much like people baby proof their houses when they have kids. Basically, anything the dog can get at, I try to keep out of reach. Then, dog toys stay accessible at all times, so that he always has something to put in his mouth that is ok.

What the others said. Also, try giving her more exercise - a tired dog is a well-behaved dog.
