the question is sir: can THEY keep up with ME? 😛Yes DUKE also has a program, however I must warning you not to think you are DR. Rambo. I have worked on a SWAT team as a medic for several years and have done assignments in different parts of the world as a contract medic. SWAT teams train atleast twice a month plus the amount of training that is required to become a good team member is alot. ALso you need to be in top physical shape in order to be successful. I worked with some residents at a training who were out there just "playing" around, you will loose respect very fast and no body will trust you. It can be very fun if you properly prepare yourself, and take it seriously... If its something you really want to do, just be prepared to put the work in...
can you imagine how many dates you'd get being a SWAT doc? Dear god.![]()

You ever heard the term FNG? Its better to be seen and not heard.. Most Docs aren't true full members of the team, I have never seen a doc make entry with a team, or go through the full amount of training that the rest of the team goes through. Now I do know they are a FEW Doctors out there who went through the full police acdemy and chew the same dirt everyone else does but they are few and far between and they have put there time in and EARNED there respect. We had a doc working with us for a while, he couldnt keep up with all the training and now is only our medical director from admin stand point nothing in the field.. We respected him because he was voluteering his time and he was a doc but they never fully respected him because he didn't do all the same training as everyone else. If you have never been in the military or been apart of a closed tight knit group its hard for you to understand what I am talking about..
