Hey guys,

I was wondering how to go about selecting what type of research to do. I know to do clinical research, not basic sciences if I wanna get a pub, but here's the dilemma. Let's say I wanted to initially into Derm and did research in it, but for some reasons or another , I stopped and wanted to pursue a different speciality like Ortho. Now I have Derm research, but not Ortho-based research.

How do I go about selecting what type of research to get involved in?

Thanks in advance!

No one will care that you did research in another specialty. It's understood that your interests will change over time and it's not always possible to get involved in specialty-specific research. "I initially had an interest in derm but decided I wanted to do ortho because X" will suffice.

skin, bones, connective tissue, fascia, cartilage, tendons, joints, all the same - it ain't family med, psych, or vital organs.
