What is the arterial pCO2 of dolphins? during diving and after ventilation? When you anesthetize a dolphin with controlled ventilation, what is your target end tidal CO2? My daughter wants to know. thanks
 
While I don't personally know the answers to your questions, I highly recommend the CRC Handbook of Marine Mammal Medicine. It's HUGE (over 1,000 pages!), and has lots of information. While your local public library might not have it, any university near you just might (I know mine does). Good luck!
 
I don't know either but there is a series of articles on dolphin physiology during diving a while back in J Exp Biology. You can find them on pubmed.

I didn't really read it but it looks like PCO2 is pretty similar to other mammals and increases in a linear fashion with time during breath holding.
