hey guys

I'm finally done with the DAT after 6 weeks of studying

here are my scores

PAT 22
RC 21
Bio 19
chem 23
Orgo 24
QR 30
AA 23

I was hoping for a higher score due to my gpa being low(both sci and non science at 3.0)

I have shadowed a dentist for about 80 hrs
and did some summer research for two summers as an intern at a hospital and a lab

would i atleast get some interviews ???

Great score on QR...I think I'd list it twice also!!! Solid scores overall. Even with your lower GPA you've still given yourself a good chance. Apply broadly and I think you've got a good shot getting in somewhere.

oops haha i corrected the mistake

during the 6 weeks...

I woke up at 6:30
started studying from 7:30 to 12
eat and rest
study from 3 to 9
and then rest a little and practice PAT for about an hr every day

basically i had so social life !

Had you already been introduced to most of the material, or did you have to teach yourself some of it?..

I think you're set to go. i mean, no one can possibly retake a 23AA. just make sure ur PS stands out. good luck!

23AA offsets your low GPA in my opinion

you are my hero 😀 I am in the same boat as I need to wreck house on my DAT to offset my GPA... If I pull your schores I think thats possible. What did you do for math... any tips I start studying next week and have till June 26th. It would be really helpful if you could break down how you studied materials used if you took days off, so on and so forth.

well for the full six weeks i did not take any days off ... i didn't have enough time since i had no basis for orgo or bio.
for chemistry, the AP chem i took in high school really helped and didn't really have to study for it cause i remembered most of the materials.

for orgo, at first i went through the kbb book just mainly focusing on memorizing the reactions and reagents and then when i felt comfortable with it i started reading the whole book from the begining and tried to understand. Also the list of reaction they have on wikimed really helped me out to

bio, my weakest along with RC, i memorized every single detail from kbb and ap cliff, still didn't do really well... when studying for bio i spent most of my days in the book shop and solved practice ap bio exams located in back of every single ap bio book they had. i think this helped me out alot i might have scored lower if i didn't do this

RC, i knew i couldn't study much for this section so i didn't at all. During the actual test i read through each passages carefully and then started answering the question rather than going straight to the search and destroy method.

For PAT, crack dat pat really helped me out. when i first bought it did the first practice test i didn't even know what i was doing.. i got like a 13 on it haha
i think for the PAT the only way to score higher is to just practice everyday !

I have a pretty strong background on math, so i didn't study at all for the QR part..
during the actual test i felt like if you are able to set up equations from the word problems you would do just fine
