I was verified today! It this feels this good, I wonder if I will be able to handle an acceptance offer...I might explode.

No grades showing yet though, and it stated that they will be seen when the App is sent to the schools during the third week of June.

Now...back to waiting for something to happen again...

👍

No grades showing? Or no GPA showing? All of my grades are showing, just not GPA.

No GPA calculated. It still shows that I'm verified, but there are no release dates next to the schools which I think is when the final GPA's are calculated...

Hopefully soon

Yea that's what they told me about GPAs too.

Do you need to have your MCAT to become verified with AACOMAS? And even without your MCAT, you can still submit your app right?

You need to have your transcripts received, and your app submitted and paid for. When that's all done, AACOMAS can begin to verify...no MCAT needed

Ok thank you. So once you are verified, AACOMAS sends the app to your selected schools? And then whenever you receive your MCAT, do you send that to the schools or AACOMAS where they relay it to the schools? Sorry, when it comes to stuff like online apps I am in over my head.

Im going to give you an answer and direct you to download the instruction for application with AACOMAS. Log into your accomas account and look towards the upper right corner where it gives a link to the Application Instructions. Applying is pretty involved, but there is an answer there for everything step by step.

But, in general, when your MCAT score is released, you will go to the MCAT thx site and release your scores to the app services youd like to (AMCAS, AACOMAS, TMDSAS). They will send to the schools.

good luck

You'll see release dates, which basically means the app is available for the schools to pull off, and then once they've actually downloaded your application you will see a View link. If you click that it will show you a copy of what the school got. It's interesting to see how your entire application full of information gets condensed into 3 or 4 pages of information.

GPAs are contained in those PDF files - broken down by year - and I suggest you look over each of those files completely to make sure there are no mistakes that you need to alert the school about.

Also, the anticipation only gets worse. The days following an interview, for me, were the most grueling. I'd rather have waited 90 days for an MCAT score than another 2 days for notification of acceptance/denial. In those days you begin to question the very meaning of life.

So they are no releasing to schools until the 3rd week of June? Where did you find that information? I've been verified for a while, but never received an email or anything.

Haha, I can only imagine.

This was in a message that was sent out upon verification. It's in the support section of the AACOMAS site.

Just submitted my payment and app. No email, no nothing, in terms of verification. Is that the case with you guys as well?

It takes a few days of waiting...they say up to 3 weeks, though it was faster for me and most others so far.

I submitted mine on Monday the 4th and I still haven't heard anything. I'd just like it to be verified before next Tuesday. I know another week really wouldn't make that much difference but I can't help wanting it to be verified already!

Just weighting in; my file was completed and submitted with payment early on the 4th and was just verified yesterday afternoon. So, it shouldn't be long- I'd think.

Once you're verified, do you just wait for your schools to send you the secondaries?

Submitting and having your transcripts marked 'received' are two different occurrences, FYI.

AACOMAS wont begin to verify until both you have submitted and they have received your transcripts.

Hope it's soon.

And yes, once you are verified, you are just waiting for AACOMAS to release, for your schools to download and then for the secondaries to flood in.

Yeah both of my transcripts have been "received" as of 5/15. No worries though, after a little coursework confusion I am verified today! The email I got for verification said they won't be releasing scores until the 3rd week of June anyway do I guess no secondaries until the end of the month at the earliest.

Congrats to everyone who got verified! Please make sure to start prewriting your secondaries... you want to be able to send your secondaries back out the same day you get them. You don't want to blow your early-ness in the application by not being prepared for secondaries!

You can find the prompts on here for each school. Some of the schools have the prompts from last year posted near the beginning of their school specific thread (from last year). There's also a thread on here someone made like 4 years ago with prompts compiled from every campus. I found that most of them were the same... but a couple schools had 1-2 slightly different essays. No biggie. Just find the prompts and get started.

Getting started now sounds like a good idea. Are there threads on the DO forum for secondary prompts? I guess I'll just have to look around a bit.

Great advice...

Cookie to whomever can link to that secondaries compliation thread. I went through the 2011-2012 allo forum and got secondaries for all my allo schools, but haven't
been able to get them for DO schools yet.
