alright just got out of the exam, wasent too bad, def thought i bombed it hard, but its ok..

pat- 18
qr- 16 yikes
rc- 18
bio- 19
gchem- 18
ochem- 18

TS- 19
AA- 18

i know the scores arent the greatest, but i hope its just enough to let me slide.. lol.. anyway like i said i thought i really f'd up somewhere but when i saw 19 it made my day.. studied for about 2.5 weeks nonstop, day and night like 10-12 hrs days. extremely rough. did destoryer, achiever, topscore, a little reading from exam crackers bio and barely studied math and pat.. uhh.. the exam is generally easy, the hardest part was studying.. so much **** to cover for a measly(sp?) 100 questions.. i would have done better if i started studying earlier. i only took each practice test once (3 from achiever and 3 from topscore) and skimmed over what i got wrong.. time was against me on this one..

3.48 gpa, did gateway at umdnj, shadowed, work in a dental office, fairly strong committee letter.. i hope they look at more than just a score..

something i noticed about the pc's at the test centers though.. if you keep clicking the next button fast enough, the time will stop until you stop clicking.. so i did bio, skipped to ochem, and went back to gchem without losing anytime.. also did that with pat.. skipped top, front, side and went back to it... for RC i should have stuck with my normal strategy of reading the first sentence, then skimming for keywords, but instead, i just went hunting for an answer for the 1st passage which really slowed me down.. oh.. and another piece of advice.. when doing RC.. read 2-3 questions ahead, and get a keyword from each question... as you are skimming for an answer, you may get lucky and run into one of the keywords from another Q. reading the first sentence of every parapgraph def gives you a feel of the passage and where certain things may be located.

anyway, im exhausted. dont know if my scores are up to par with the competition, but good enough for me... applying to 08 cylce btw.. let me know what u guys think, thanks!

MAN, QR WAS HARD AS HELL......yeah i just got out of my exam too...feeling relaxed....getting drunk tonight😀😀

I'd say those are mostly good scores. Don't be so hard on yourself.

i also took the DAT today.. harder than last time in my opinion.. especially the gen chem and the QR... ran out of time just put in C for the last 3! what the hell was that?!

they have got to do something about the PAT/hole punch... half of them were in the middle of the fold (like between 2 dots)

agreed, i screwed up my not reading the passage before the questions.. i did the search and answer approach.. bad idea. also half of the words were a foreign language to me, ie: "the author's attitude is: A. word, B. word, C. pig-latin, D. pig-latin, E. something chinese"

scores:
PA: 22
QR: 18
RC: 20 ....... a 20 is only 67th percentile!!!!!?
BIO: 22
GC: 18 ............61 percentile! damnit
OC: 21
TS: 20
AA: 20

lol yeh... c is always my answer of choice when it comes to running out of time.. lol.. your scores are pretty solid too.. youre set.. i would say im border line with the 16qr and only 18AA.. but hopefully they will just welcome me with open arms.. lol

tell me about the RC percentiles man.. my 18 is 38.1%.. lol.. it was hard enough skimming for the answers.. it felt more of a race than anything..

bio was pretty striaght forward.. everything i studied from destoryer+achiever+topscore+exam cracker was in there.. just my problem was when i thought i knew somethings i really didnt.. i would skim through it and be like "yeh i know this stuff" and then when the question came up.. i was like wtf... its always between 2 answers that i could never figure out.. QR is a race to finish. do what you can first all the short 30sec problems then come back for the word problems.. unless youre just really good at **** like this then u can knock em all out....

listen... know all this stuff on this link and you should be ok... its pretty specific and should guide you into the right direction

anonymuz,
i dont mean to be the pessimist, but i would retake and shoot for 20s and above.. especially for the science and PAT. i dont know about your grades but those DAT scores are very average. I am applying for a second time and my first DAT scores were: pat 18, qr 18, rc 23, bio 19, gc 21, oc 24, ts 20, and AA 21.

Nowadays with so many ppl applying with impressive scores I would study again and retake it in 3 months and get up into the 20s to be competitive... get everything ready for AADSAS and send early early early!

sorry to bring this up after a very stressful day..

pm me if you have any questions

Depending on your extracurriculars and other experiences you may have a shot at some schools. I'd definitely apply to your state school and as many private schools as possible.

To That guy, you so hijacked his thread. :hijacked:

what does that mean?? if hijacking means giving constructive criticism, sorry...? i mean i would rather someone give me valuable advise instead of saying "keep your head up" and "youll make your mother proud, blah blah"

if you are offended, OP, then remove my advice.

You posted your DAT scores and stuff in his thread rather than making your own thread. This takes attention away from the OP's topic. That is what hijacking means. I am not referring to the criticism.

thanks for advice you guys.. im def gonna apply to my state school, umdnj.. ive got good history with them like i said, i did 2 week program there.. my apps been in since like august, but they were waiting for my scores, which i was supposed to take my dats in dec but got into this huge car accident (some dude fell asleep and collided straight into me) so i had to push it back to today.. i guess god made me break my leg for a reason.. to sit my arse at home and study like a dork.

im surprised you didnt get in with those scores btw guy... where did u apply? supposedly i was told that there have been more 18aa acceptances this year, but i know for a fact that this year is easier to get in than last year. i adcom had told me that btw..

I hear that applicants who did the gateway program have a high rate of acceptance at UMDNJ!!

For RC where the answers basically word for word out of the passages?
