DONE with Anatomy!

Me too!!! Done with anatomy. Now on to biochem and micro.

congrads!

We finished anatomy a few weeks ago, and I was so relieved to be done. And then we had our White Coat Ceremony, which was really fun.

And today we had our first biochem test, which I easily passed. Yay! Med school isn't soul-crushingly hard if you're willing to work a little bit. And I'm having fun. Yes, fun. Who knew med school could be so much fun?

no fair.

I have six weeks of anatomy under my belt and no light at the end of the tunnel until April...

How do you guys learn it all in such a short time?

My head is spinning as it is...

Well, back to the crypt....

well, we did anatomy (with 9 embryo lectures) along with 2 hours/week of "physician and society." Learning anatomy was like cramming every single day. We had 3 tests in 8 weeks.

how do you recommend studying for anatomy?

who, me?

Must be nice to be done...

Are there other schools that still have the good ol' 3-4 classes they take their first quarter/semester? Here at Davis, we take Anatomy(which includes Embryo and Radiology, with no prosections), Biochemistry, Psychiatry, and intro to History Taking for 10 weeks.

Then we finish Anatomy! So, I have about 4 weeks left until Anatomy is done! (Well at least macroanatomy...)

no prosections? Eek! We had TA's do prosections so we could see one very well dissected body while we were working on our dissection. Very very useful.

Done with anatomy? Wow, I am so envious. Our school placed way too much emphasis on anatomy to a point that is almost unrealistic and absurd... Our second 8 hr exam is next week which covers everything from diaphragm down, a freaking nightmare... On top of that, we get crap lecture notes that are only text without any pictures... Then we have this pathetic little bone room that is filled with 30 or so bones painted with different attachments, and it was way too much material for one single test... I hate our anatomy course.

Oh, we have prosections to look at, but we must dissect everything by hand. Also, we are mainly tested from each other's cadavers, with the exception of the skull, pelvic diaphragm, and a few other things.

We have anatomy for a whole semester, and honestly, I don't think I could absorb the info any faster.

Whoever said it was like cramming every day is SOOO right. I've been cramming ever since this block started six weeks ago, and I only barely feel like I might be ready for the exam by Monday.

I'll finally be done with anatomy in like 4-5 weeks. Just 1 more lab practical, 2 more tests and the shelf ( on my bday of all days ...)

All we got left so far is the head/neck and the rest of the upper limb.

I think we're pretty lucky here because we got a professional dissector working for us, she's leaving us though after this term 🙁

Everything is so crystal clear with her and always there to help us when we screw up our own dissections.

Also for the practical, she'll go in the morning of and clean up everything from our own dissections. She'll only use the body if she can make something crystal clear.
But we get tested from our own dissections. The only thing we did not use was for a few of the pelvis muscle in a L-something view. Rear up basically.
