Completed my first (and only?) DAT today and am so glad its done.
PAT-19
QR-18
RC-24
BIO-20
GC-23
OC-30
TS-23
AA-23
I'm extremely pleased with how the sciences went. You don't think my PAT QR scores are anything to worry about do you??
Recap:
Biology: I don't know if it was easier than the Kaplan BB or not but I seemed to know more of the questions than I did in the practice. I think Barron's AP book was my most useful study resource.
Gen. chem.- I thought this section was easier than Kaplan BB. I was getting only 18-19 in BB practice tests. Several questions in which the answers listed what calculations were needed rather than final answer.
Organic chem.- I thought the questions were pretty basic. No obscure reactions or anything. It helped taking organic chemistry this year at college. I strongly recommend taking the DAT right after finishing orgo 1 and 2.
PAT- Very similar to Crack DAT PAT. I thought the angles and pattern folding were the hardest part. Hole punching and blocks seemed easier. Keyholes and Top,front, end were medium difficulty.
Reading- Nothing special. One on genes, one on asteroids, one on calcium in cells. I just read questions and looked for answers pretty much. Most questions didn't cover the articles as a whole.
Quantitative Reasoning- I ran out of time on this section as usual. Very similar to Crack DAT Math. Maybe a little tougher even.
I used Crack DAT PAT and Crack DAT MATH, Kaplan BB, Barron's AP, and a Gen. chem. textbook to study. Highly recommend Crack DAT software. Replicates computer process and difficulty is similar. I probably would've bombed the PAT if I didn't have it.
