Completed my first (and only?) DAT today and am so glad its done.

PAT-19
QR-18
RC-24
BIO-20
GC-23
OC-30
TS-23
AA-23

I'm extremely pleased with how the sciences went. You don't think my PAT QR scores are anything to worry about do you??

Recap:

Biology: I don't know if it was easier than the Kaplan BB or not but I seemed to know more of the questions than I did in the practice. I think Barron's AP book was my most useful study resource.

Gen. chem.- I thought this section was easier than Kaplan BB. I was getting only 18-19 in BB practice tests. Several questions in which the answers listed what calculations were needed rather than final answer.

Organic chem.- I thought the questions were pretty basic. No obscure reactions or anything. It helped taking organic chemistry this year at college. I strongly recommend taking the DAT right after finishing orgo 1 and 2.

PAT- Very similar to Crack DAT PAT. I thought the angles and pattern folding were the hardest part. Hole punching and blocks seemed easier. Keyholes and Top,front, end were medium difficulty.

Reading- Nothing special. One on genes, one on asteroids, one on calcium in cells. I just read questions and looked for answers pretty much. Most questions didn't cover the articles as a whole.

Quantitative Reasoning- I ran out of time on this section as usual. Very similar to Crack DAT Math. Maybe a little tougher even.

I used Crack DAT PAT and Crack DAT MATH, Kaplan BB, Barron's AP, and a Gen. chem. textbook to study. Highly recommend Crack DAT software. Replicates computer process and difficulty is similar. I probably would've bombed the PAT if I didn't have it.

DAMN! This is like the 5th time I've seen a 22AA+ score on SDN in the past two weeks!

How am I ever gonna compete with you guys (that is, if I don't do better on my retake?) Haha. 😛

i think one of the secrets of getting a high AA is to get perfect in one of the sciences, since AA is calculated as the average of the 5, but getting a perfect is well...

Awsome scores. How long did you study for it?

Thanks. I started studying at the start of May for like 1-2 hours a day and took the weekends off. (I even fit in a 5 day vacation to florida with no studying). Then at the beginning of June, I did a little over 2 hours a day. Then about two weeks before, I studied for 4-5 hrs (sometimes more) every day I could find the time. I have a full time job and a part time job (about 55 hours/wk) so it was difficult. But some early mornings and some late nights paid off. I did a lot of questions on Crack DAT, read the Kaplan BB, and quickly went through the AP book. Basically my life was Hell for a while there. But it was well worth it.😀

was crack dat math a valuable tool? do you recommend using it? or just stick with math destroyer only?

I recommend it. I thought it helped a great deal with my speed. I became much faster at the questions and I learned the material. The video explanations they give for each question are great for learning the material you struggle with. I haven't tried destroyer though so I don't know how that compares.
