24 days of studying paid off with ok scores. Reading will definitely hurt me in the long run. I started studying the day right after my final ended. I am not bluffing, it is really my studying plan, you guys can probably do better than me if you modify my study plan.
By the way, can anyone tell me if my score is good enough for applying to U Penn or maybe USC, I have a 3.85 cumulative GPA, and 3.9 science .
PAT: 20 (81.0 %)
Quantitative Reasoning : 24 (99.4 %)
Reading Comprehension: 18 (52.2 %) 😡
Biology: 20 (91.8 %)
General Chemistry: 24 (98.0)
Organic Chemistry: 26 (99.2)
TS: 23 (99.3)
AA: 22 (98.9)
I carefully examined many posts on SDN, and I decided to make my own studying schedule.
I read through enough books that can piled up to 2 ft high, so 24 days is cramming,
PAT: it is very hard, I was really surprised by the keyhole, and and pattern folding is harder than Crack Pat.
RC: Nothing I want to say for this section....
QR: Pretty easy for me. I did math destroyer, maybe the first 8 test in the book, which is enough, a lot of the stuff was not even on the test
Biology: I only have 1 year of General Biology and one semester of microbiology, so I do not have a broad knowledge on Biology, I know I am dead for this section.
Gen Chem: Definitely not hard, it is possible to score a perfect on this section, but I did not, so if you have more time on this, you will do good.
O chem: not hard, I probably just miss one weird naming problem, everything else is simple.
First 7 days:
Each day, I wake up at 7 a.m in the morning, eat breakfast, take a good shower, and start studying at 8 a.m I watch Chad's video, 1 chapter a day, O chem and gen chem, so basically, I sat there for like 7 hrs ish just watching videos and take good notes. At around Day 5 or so, I can do many Destroyer problems, so I started doing destroyers problems as I go. Also, I do 20 problems on Math Destroyer a day. Basically, by doing all of the above, it will take almost 10 hrs, and this week will pass by really fast, believe me ... I know....
8th and 9 th day:
Here is the extremely boring part. Now that I finish Chad's video on Gen chem and O chem, it is time for practice problem. Aim for at least 100 Destroyer problems a Day on each section of O chem and Gen chem, I also start doing 1 practice test of Math destroyer a day, without time limit. The point here is to understand for you are doing, and not how good you are at the moment, most likely, you suck at this point.
10th to 11th
On this day, I finish Destroyer on Gen chem and O chem. Now, I go back a 2nd time, 100 problems a day, on gen chem and o chem. Also, math destroyer practice test. Read through the notes you taken on Chads
12th
On this day, I look through Chad's notes, and just relax for the day.
13th and 14th
Ok, Just for all of you guys out there, I personally took AP Chem and Biol in high school, and failed both test. I got a 1 on biology , so you know how bad I am. I have Princeton review book for both Gen Chem and Biology, Also, I got another review book for AP Chem and Cliff notes for AP Biol. BUT, I did not touch AP bio book today, I went through 8 chapters of AP review books, and did the practice after every chapter. THen I did math destroyer, and also did 30 O chem destroyer problems. When I miss something in the AP chem book, I just write it down on a separate sheet on paper.
15,16,17, 18 th
I finish all the practice on the 2 AP Chem book, now I do the practice AP test in the back of the book. SO, basically, I expose myself to 75 new problems everyday related to Gen CHem, and you cannot use calculator on it. Additionally, I do 50 O chem problems on the Destroyer, and went thru the Kaplan blue book to make sure I wrote down every rxn possible for DAT, as for some of you know, CHAD"S video is not complete for the rxns. I circle any problems I got wrong on the destroyer, By this time, I am redoing my math destroyer, but only the first 8 test.
19th to 24th
Now, for me, I have to study one of the hardest section for me, BIOLOGY. I just had Biochemistry before my DAT, so I know Cellular Respiration and DNA in the back of my heart. Here I am , reading thru AP Cliff notes in 2 days, then AP princeton book in 2 days, also, each day, I do 1 practice AP exams in the back of the book. so 75 questions a day on biology. Again, I only read carefully on parts that I do not know, on stuff that I do know, I did not bother, it was not my plan to get a good score on BIOLOGY, just enough to pass. Writing down what I get wrong on AP exam, Additionally, read through the problems I got wrong on Destroyers on GEN CHEM AND O CHEM, and also review CHAD"S notes. I also look at ALAN"S notes on biology, which is useful.... kind of... I went through Kaplan book for additional details not on cliffnotes.
PS: I did not spent any day doing a complete practice exams, it is for people who have sufficient amount of time to do, not for people who have to cram. I just use topscore and only did the science part. I also did the Kaplan Blue book test, but that is about it. Believe me, if you never experience how boring the DAT could be, you wouldn't be bored or tired when you are taking your test. If you already spent so much time on practicing not to get tired on the test, you will get tired because you already did it so many times.
I could had done better on my Reading, but on my optional 15 mins break, I drank a bottle of protein supplement drink, and started jogging around the testing center to stay energize, which was a bad idea. After I started my RC, I was feeling sick to my stomach, and almost vomitted. No vigorous exercise after drinking... lesson to learn for the rest of my life.
I might add something later if I find something I did not add.
