I know similar posts have probably been made but I couldn't really find anything that was similar to my situation.

sgpa: 3.3; C in gen chem freshmen yr (health related), C+ in orgo lab, but A in orgo
cgpa:3.6
MCAT: will take this summer, have been getting 508 on practice but hope to raise it a couple points before then

Research: 1+ yrs; soon to be published
Clinical: 120 hrs shadowing ob gyn, ENT surgeon, primary care physician, and orthopedic surgeon
Volunteer: 180 hrs at local ED department, 50 hrs at community free clinic, spent past 2 summers volunteering at free clinic in Eastern KY (200 hrs total), foster service dogs
Work: Paid research lab assistant freshmen yr (not sure how good it looks since I was paid and didn't do much), 2000 hrs as lifeguard

I know my sgpa is low, I will be graduating this summer (I am a junior) and plan to raise it by doing either a DIY bost bacc or masters in medical science in what would be my senior yr, before applying to medical school. I am hoping to go to MD KY state schools because that it where I am from.

I'd love to hear opinions on which is better to raise sgpa or which is more favorably looked upon: DIY post Bacc or masters in medical science?

I mean it really is up to you at this point GPA wise. Masters in medical sciences opens up a couple doors for like teaching or research if med school doesn't work out. I believe a DIY post bacc at a CC would generally be easier

And a masters won’t help with graderepair for MD schools( it will
for DO schools.) If you cant stay for another year at your undergrad and take upper level science then I agree a DIY post bac at a CC would be cheaper. Look into DO schools too.
