Don't know when to take the DAT, help

Take it in the summer when you don't have school/work/volunteer/ECs to worry about. Studying 4-6 hrs a day for a month will be enough. You should take DAT right after you finish your pre-reqs so everything's fresh.
I did mine last summer too (end of second year) and had it over with

i agree with the previous poster, take it in the summer after 2nd year . Im in the same boat as u as far as completed courses go, and i am planning to study coming summer and will take it . Hopefuly i will have to take it only once, if not then u have some time to study and improve...

i think the timing is perfect if u take it in the summer after 2nd year finishes. just my opinion cuz u have opporutunity and time to study if u didnt score to hot on ur 1st try.

Can you give me advice on when to take DAT? I'm in my 3rd year of college and I'm not sure when it is good time to take DAT. I have bought the books but I haven't had the time to study because I'm really busy with school. I know that is not a good excuse and I should find time to study but I haven't. So I'm getting all anxious because my plan was to take DAT during summer and there is only about 6 months left. I finished all my Intro Bio classes and Gen Chem. I am currently taking Ochem1 and planning on taking Ochem2 next semester. I am planning on taking Cell and Molecular Biology during summer. I am worried because DAT covers cell and molecular and I have not taken that class yet. So I feel like I am score bad in Bio sections in DAT. When do you guys apply for dental school? In the beginning or in the end of senior year?

You apply at the end of your junior year, unless you decide to take a year off. If you just use Cliff's AP Biology, you should be fine for the bio section.

You have the winter break to study, so if you can really dedicate yourself to simply DAT over the break I'm sure you can take it sometime in January. Otherwise your other option is to complete your application June 1st, get LOR in on time, study DAT in the summer, and take it in July or August.
