I know this is very stupid questikn but
i dont know which dental schools to apply.

I hav low gpa(around 3.15but working my ass off to raise it up for last two quarters before application)
And also im studying really hard now for DAT(aiming for more than23..)

Anyways
My top choices are socal dental schools(usc, western, lomalinda)

And i really dont have much info about outside of ca schools.

I know im not a competitive applicant for uop ucla or ucsf or any other good dental schools

So i just wana know some dentals school that i actually have shot at it
if i can hopefully raise my gpa around 3.25 and get 22+ dat

Can u guys please help this newbie out?
thnks!

I'd be careful saying this, as I think some people might not exactly take kindly to you saying that after mentioning their school as a potential target.😉

Anyway, it's very difficult to predict without an actual DAT score. It's hard enough to speculate with real stats, but you are simply asking us to speculate about DAT scores and a gpa you hope you will get. Once you have an actual DAT score, people will be able to give you somewhat of a better idea about which schools for which you will be a competitive applicant with your numbers.

Best of luck.

Look into getting access to the ADEA guidebook. It's a little expensive but see if you can find it in a library or a pre-dental advising office first. The book will give you a breakdown of every dental school in the country and you'll get an idea as to what schools are compatible with your GPA and DAT scores.

I also want to stress that even though GPA and DAT scores are really important, it's not all about the numbers. Shadowing is important for example, as well as a strong personal statement.

Good luck

I think you're delusional if you think you'll get over a 22 or 23, thats the 99th percentile and probably won't happen. With your GPA a 19 or 20 seems more realistic. Aim for the sky, but don't expect a 23.

Yup there's definiite proof that those scores are real and even if it happened to 2 people out of the entire predents universe it doesn't mean it will happen for the OP. I think its good to aim high but you should never expect a 23. Ps You're a super smart guy I hope UCLA work out for you. And if you dont like my responses thats just too bad.

Def. get that ADA guide. And shoot for the best you can do.

And don't say which schools you want to go to and which of the good schools you can't get into, that's insulting.
