don't sign up for the class. they have *****s teaching it. There regular students just like me and you. the only qualification to teach the class is to do well on the exam yourself. But that doesnt mean these people know how to teach.

i took the class. it was suppose to be 3 hrs long each session, but they only last about 1.5 hrs each then sent us home early. wtf i didnt pay 1k out of my own pocket to be let out early.

They dont even go that in depth into the material. The teachers only went over very very basic concepts. Too bad the dat tests you on a bunch of in depth things.

Dont do it, not worth it. your better off studying on your own and spending the money on a bunch of material.

Couldn't agree more...wish I had read this forum before I signed up for the class. Kaplan was the biggest waste of my money. Sucks we paid $1000 for a KBB and a couple practice tests... money def. could have been better spent elsewhere.

My class did not run under time... it always ran OVER bc the majority of the time was spent with our "instructor" doing problems wrong and having to go back to fix her mistakes. If i had a dime for every time we had to correct her........ i only continued going to class to get my money's worth. yet i think i sat in class everyday wondering why am i even here?? Time would have been better spent alone in my room with Chad.... just sayin'. 😉

i couldn't agree more, but the kaplan online course is pretty useful. When you are away and need to practice when you are away from your home and need to brush up on the go.

I could say the same thing about Princeton. Its even worse since their books are FULL of ridiculous mistakes.

I hope you did your research before singing up for a class.

The class it self is useless definitely. but their online practice material is excellent.

I hope you did your research regarding how many classes per subject.
If you didnt there are 3 classes per each subject which mean total of 9 hours per subject.

9 hours of biology, 9 hours of chem... will not MAKE YOU AN EXPERT in the subject... that is waste of time but practice material i will support it.

i actually DISAGREE. My instructor was very knowledgeable. He had amazing examples for evertyhing....answered our questions perfectly...and really took the time to explain when we didn't understand. Essentially you aren't paying for the class you are paying for ALL the material they give you online...which is definetely a lot of material. Subject tests, section tests, practice tests, workshops, and all the notecards they send you. It really helps...and I really like SOME of their strategies. Overall, I think its a great starting point...definetely NOT a waste IMO.

does anybody know if you can purchase kaplan practice materials? Tests, study questions etc. without taking the course? Also is there a kaplan library with additional practice questions. if so can you purchase access to it/ is it worth the money?

I respectfully disagree. I took the Kaplan online courses because I wanted to learn the material at my own pace. I knew if I took the real class courses, I'd be stuck with a lot of other people with many different questions slowing down the lectures.

I took Kaplan and I believe it prepared me really well.

Kaplan's online resources (subject tests, workshops, quizzes, and online tests) are where the meat is. The lectures are utterly useless, though.

To each his own.

Though I partially agree with you on the in class Kaplan, remember that they're not supposed to teach you the subject, they're supposed to review the facts that will supposedly get you the most points. Also, the Online material is much better than the in class - it was more or less all I did to study for the DAT, and I did pretty well. The best part were the questions which had entire paragraph explanations as to the correct and incorrect answer, that's where I did most of my learning.
