I just recently realized the need to request a Dean's statement for good standing. I'm not sure how we're supposed to submit this, or if we should do it for every school? For the Medical college of wisconsin, it says, "dean's statement, if applicable", but doesn't give further directions. Overall, i'm just pretty confused at what this is for and what we have to do. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

My memory on this is kind of foggy but I remember either reading about it before or asking someone. If I remember correctly I think some schools require some sort of dean's statement form to be filled out by your academic dean or whoever fills such things out at your institution. I think they only do this for matriculants though, basically if you're actually going to attend certain schools I think they want another certification as to your good standing in terms of academics, disciplinary record, etc.

However this isn't a widespread routine thing that matters for applying to medical schools in general. Basically, just know that something like what I described exists, and that if you need to worry about it, you will receive notification that you need to follow certain steps to take care of it.

Based on looking at MCW supplementary, I think the dean's certificate is just for students currently enrolled in a graduate program. Maybe I am mistaken though. But MCW will let you know if you are missing something... but you could give a call to them to be on the safe side (I spoke to one of the admissions ladies this morning, and she seemed very nice)

okay, thanks for the quick response everyone!! 🙂 that definitely made me feel better.
