DO's Accepting Canadians

Hey,

I just wanted to know which DO schools accept Canadians off hand? And if I write the August MCAT, how far will I be behind in the game if I was to submit my application around the same time?

all private schools accept Canadians. Except Touro and NYCOM.
Other then that I think most do. Just select about 10 schools that you may be interested in and write them an email or call them up, just to make sure you have up to date information. Re: MCAT in Aug. of course you will be behind the people that have MCAT completed... but you will not be the first one to be in this situation.

Also note some DO school require letters from DOs.

COMP, CCOM, NYCOM, PCOM, MSUCOM, KCOM, and UNECOM accept Canadian students for sure (because they all accept foreign students). I'm not sure about other schools.

Yes, you will be behind a little bit and it really is a slight disadvantage, but if your application is strong you should still be fine. As soon as you get your secondaries, get cracking on them asap. I did this last year after taking the Aug MCAT and was complete by the first week in Nov. at all my schools (regarding secondaries). Your interviews will likely be in the spring semester, and half the class may already be full, but that still leaves ample room for you. Good luck
