double bolus eptifibatide (integrilin)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I leave this up to the cards guy taking them to the cath lab. Dont typically do it at the U, honestly they are out of the ED as fast as I can get them there. Have done it in about 1/2 of my STEMIs moonlighting, have been a magnet in the past 4-5 months.

i fly 'em out and have 10-40 minutes with the patients (more than enough time to give the 2nd bolus) before the helicopter crew gets there....another question i have is the double bolus compared to reopro (which is technically supposed to be superior to integrilin).....

anyone else starting gp2b3a inhibitors in the ED?? anyone using abcixi-ma-whatever (reopro...sorry i hate using trade names but the generic is so hard to say and spell!) .... or is it just heparin and ntg drips -> off to the cath lab....

We start integrillin in our STEMIs, along with heparin, ntg and the other usual suspects.

Some coincidence that pharma makes these generic names so incredibly unpronounceable, huh? Certainly couldn't be on purpose to get us to use their trade name. Those sly devils.

Take care,
Jeff

Never thought of it that way before. Dirty! 👎

no, no you guys are so cynical. Here, have some steak, trauma shears, a penlight. Dont you feel better now? Who cares what they are called, right? Oh and take some dessert home for the wife!

Well, now that you've put it in proper context....

Take care,
Jeff
