Just finished watching the Netflix documentary Downfall. The entire time, all I could think about was how Boeing is eerily similar to current chain pharmacies especially cvs/wag.

Then I realized how unless something catastrophic happens like the boeing 737 max, nothing will change in the pharmacy. I got all sad.

Dear young pharmacists, LEAVE NOW!

The reason why things are not changing rapidly, and why people are not being hurt in mass numbers, is due to the fact that there are so many pharmacists willing to put their mental/physical heath on the line to accomplish a job, which if the public was aware the actual goings on, would consider entirely impossible.

It’s because we are killing ourselves to make it happen.

Something is happening, though. Massive numbers of pharmacists and techs are quitting. The trouble is, those left, and those entering need to put their foot down, and adamantly oppose 3 things at all times that endanger our patients, our profession, and ourselves:
1) no breaks
2) punitive metrics
3) shifts longer than 8 hours.

No other job puts up with this. Ask all your patients: how would you like going without lunch at work? How would you like being forced to stay 2 hours late and come 2 hours early every day, and not get paid for it? It's time for us to stop sacrificing ourselves. If we don't take care of ourselves, we can't take care of our patients.

They'll just find another cog replacement. Patients don't care, they want their oxy
