Hey everyone! I am looking for some feedback on my stats and input on how I could make my application stronger. I realize that my GPAs are on the low end, I am hoping that my experiences will still make me a competitive applicant.

Undergrad degree: BS in Health & Exercise Science - Syracuse University
Graduate degree: MS in Athletic Training - Temple University
cGPA: 3.21
pGPA: 3.11
Last 60: 3.91
GRE: V - 152, Q - 158, AW - 4.0
** retaking a couple of science courses this summer to increase my GPA

Observation hours: 400 hours - outpatient ortho/sport, 25 outpatient aquatics, 10 inpatient pediatric, 25 SNF for those with physical disabilities, and I should get about 280 more at the outpatient facility where I work as a PT aide; also have 1000+ athletic training hours.

LOR: 2 PTs from the outpatient facility that I work at, 1 from the program director of my athletic training program

Extracurriculars: I work as a personal trainer at a health/wellness facility, instruct an exercise class for kids ages 7-12, volunteer for the Special Olympics, volunteer at a local animal shelter, was an RA at my undergrad university, have worked as camp counselor for a sports camp, volunteered for a program that taught parents of children with intellectual and physical disabilities how to engage in physical activity with their children, student ambassador for my undergrad and graduate universities, and was vice president of my undergrad's exercise science club.

Applying to: Temple University, Widener University, Rutgers South, SUNY Upstate, Marymount University, Old Dominion University, University of the Sciences, Touro College, and Howard University.

Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated! Good luck to everyone applying this cycle!

Hey! I am a current DPT student that applied to some of the schools that you listed and here were my stats:
3.6 cgpa, 3.9 pgpa 149/148 gre, 4.0 AW.

I got denied from Temple with no interview, and accepted to Usciences shortly after my interview. I have a friend who went to Rutgers south and dropped out of the program because of the set up of the curriculum. He is currently re-applying to other programs.

Hope this helped!! I think you can get into schools on your first attempt if you apply wisely!!

Thanks so much! I will definitely look further into Rutgers South's curriculum.

I think you have a decent chance if you apply to schools that match your stats. I had a 3.3 cgpa, 3.3 pgpa, 149/148 4.0 AW gre. I got 3 acceptances and an abundance of interview invites. Check out my post history to see where I applied and where I got interview invites/acceptances.

Rutgers South grad. Big fan of their setup. I had similar stats with the exception of I had a much higher science GPA. I applied to 2 schools on your list and got interviews to both (temple and rutgers) I also got in to Seton hall and alvernia if you want to look into other schools who took me with those stats. I was waitlisted at western carolina and umes but withdrew off of both after I heard back from Rutgers. If you have any RU questions you can check my post history or send me a message

I actually attended the open-house event that Rutgers South had in Blackwood, NJ during June.

I just posted about my prerequisite GPA, a 3.67. Would you consider that competitive among applicants to Rutgers?

I don't really have an answer for that. Once everyone is in we didn't really discuss/compare our stats. I can tell you I was around 3.3ish GPA 3.9 pre-Req around 158/153/5.0 gre and I got in (no waitlist). I can answer questions about my time there if you have any.

Wow, that's an impressive pre-Req GPA.
Thank you, would you mind if I directly messaged you?

WOW!!! Good luck with your apps!! I have a situation GPA-wise but I'm not applying to any of your schools :/ I'm worried about the GPA too!

Thanks!! I'm applying early decision to Samuel Merritt in Oakland CA, and then regular decision to UoP, CSUS, UCSF/SFSU, and a few other NorCal Schools.
