Hey guys! I figured I will throw this out there, maybe there are people in my situation.
I don't have health insurance at all and haven't had any because I refuse to pay the outrageous amounts per month. For school we are required to have coverage. The regular insurance enrollment is already closed. Have anyone signed up for short term plans and/or have any issues with it? My program admin said we can have any type of insurance as long as it is health insurance. Any thoughts on this?

Have you thought about applying for free insurance through your state? I’m from California and have medi cal. I think you have to make under a certain amount tho yearly.

Cant get anythin free, i m married and my husband makes way too much.

Does he have insurance through his employer? I guess at this point it doesn’t matter since he won’t be able to add you until open enrollment.

Insurance through his job was $300 as well. Hence i went w out health insurance ... but now its a requirement unfortunately.

Oh wow that’s outrageous! I would try to shop around if not you might have to take the insurance from the school.
My school charges $3,800 for the year fortunately my husband’s employer offers affordable insurance.

I didn't either, just signed up for insurance through the school which comes out of your financial aid. It's way too expensive to go on my boyfriend's. And all the immunization, letter of attestation etc I had to pay for out of pocket because my health insurance didn't kick in until the first day of class. Fun.
