Hey gang,

I've searched this forum for PT interview advice, and all I found was "be yourself and have fun!" My question is whether at interviews you can be asked stuff about healthcare, recent reforms, politics, etc. What are some important points I need to brush up on? I feel like I know nothing about the admin side of the profession.

Thanks!

I've only gone to two interviews but from what I remember one of them asked absolutely nothing about politics etc. The second one asked me one question about the impacts/benefits of direct access on patient care. I think it is important to review that but even if you hadn't the way the interviewer phrased the question you could have still answered it (I recognized it as a direct access issue because I wrote an essay on it).

Aha, direct access! I figured that might be on there, thanks for confirming 😀 Should I read up on how that would affect insurance/billing? Or am I overthinking it?

I didn't do that although I mentioned that it would help reduce patient costs of healthcare.

I asked my boss (DPT) about this a few months ago, she gave me a lot of literature on the Triple Aim which is the basis for much of the health care reform. It has really helped me in interviews when this has come up and I'd recommend researching it along with the current issues.

Now that I've thought more I MIGHT have been asked a question on Obamacare as well.. I'm not positive on this one though.
