A quick search did not reveal anything on the topic, so I figured a new thread would be ok. Anyone know what the advantages/disadvantages of a DPT/PhD versus a DPT/DPTSC are? I know that the PhD is a research based degree and the DPTSC is a terminal clinical degree, but the latter states, normally, that it is for clinicians who wish to do clinical research and teach. These are the two things that a DPT who then gets a PhD would be likely to do (at least for me). So what is the difference? Which is a better option? Which pays better (not that it matters that much, but it is a consideration)?

Either way, I have to go through the DPT first, of course, but I'd like to start planning what I want to do afterwards. My focus will be adult neuro, if it matters.
