Hi, i just recently signed up for Dr.ava's pharm tech program through a nearby a community college in nyc. I spent about 1500 in the tuition but i just wanted to know if this choice was wise to help me find a part time job as a pharm tech after i finish the course. I have very little knowledge in pharmacy as it is but i know its a very demanding career in this state.

I am hoping to take the PTCB test this march and pass it through alot of studying for next few months. I dont think its required for new york city but it'd be nice to have. This program is supposed to place me in a hospital or a retail as an intern for 120 hours in total, so i wanted to ask you guys what steps to take after my intern is over to seek for a position. I currently goto st.johns univeristy but not a pharm major.

that sounds like a waste of money. places like cvs etc train you on the job and will pay for your ptcb certification. besides, if i you a ptcb certification only, no pharmacy experience and got a job at cvs for instance that really wouldnt help you all that much. you need to know how to bill insurances and use that specific employers computer system, which is what takes the longest to learn, personally the ptcb exam was common sense after working at cvs for 2 years and taking some science classes.
