I kind of always envied PhD type people because they could always use the excuse of, "I have to go to the lab," or "There's a lab emergency" or something like that. I mean, I'm sure they would make fun of you but who really cares if they do!

I am going to buy a house. 🙂 We're looking for something around $200k, and we don't have any downpayment, so 200k will be our loan amount.

Sounds awesome jeff2005. I was talking to the real estate, just for ****s and giggles, about the prices for houses...the numbers I heard knocked my socks off!

They took the bid at slightly under asking price. And yes there is space for folks who wanna visit and chill in Boston. 😀

Sweet!! I wasn't sure if that would actually work but I am going to say that all the time. 🙂 I actually do have tons more stuff that I want to do in the lab and I don't mind getting made fun of at all!

yeah...use that excuse recklessly and your clinical evals may hurt a little...you may see comments such as, "needs to show more enthusiasm." but you know what? who the hell cares. #1) clinical evals/grades are total horse****. #2) pathology isn't competitive enough for clinical evals/grades to matter all that much.

You're right - I don't care! I just have to pass. My project is actually at a critical stage right now anyway and I think has the potential to really go somewhere and be significant. I would much rather be doing that than kissing up on clinical rotations that I don't care about anyway.

And this was a long time ago but for some reason I busted my butt on my IM rotation (I was young and idealistic or something ) and got average evals anyway. I probably could have not tried nearly as hard and still got average evals.

Ha! Ain't that the truth! Case in point--Internal Medicine (****ing sucks donkey dick) rotation:
Take me--spent extra hours in the hospital...kissed some ass thinking it would matter...admitted some extra patients on call nights. Grade = Pass

Then take my friend--left everyday at a reasonable hour. admits to me that he did the bare minimum amount of work. Grade = Pass

G'damn! I could've played more warcraft during M3 year! 😡
